If you thought iTunes for Windows was a must-have audio organizer and player, think again. With MediaMonkey, you'd be hard pressed to find something here that you don't like! Compare that to the nags of updating and the crashes of iTunes, and you might just ditch the Apple product all together. especially since MediaMonkey supports synchronization with Apple devices like iPods. If you're using a Sony device, then this app is light years ahead of anything Sony has been able to produce (Connect/SonicStage).
When you first launch MediaMonkey, you'll be given the option to scan your computer for music files it supports and in this case, it scanned the PC for MP3, and WMA files. The scanning was a little bit slow due to the size of our collection on the first run, but on the second time we tried it, it was lightning fast. The actual task of organizing mp3s was much better than iTunes or Winamp, hands down.

From all of the music organizers we've tried, MediaMonkey is definitely near or at the top of the list. The pro version offers a few extra features for a price, but the free version is definitely not lacking. Without a doubt, a lot of work went into creating and maintaining this program and the fact that Ventis Media offers a freeware version without the usual limitations and nags is certainly a plus.
